In the hotel, I can’t remember how the past felt.
I rent a blank room to stop living in my past self.
Fuck now, I’m outta here tomorrow.
Fuck now, I’m outta here tomorrow,
and when I check out, it won’t matter how my name’s spelled,
‘cause when you pass through, you only keep what you can’t sell.
In the hotel, I can’t remember how the past felt.
But in a strange bed, I keep sleeping with my past self.
Fuck now, I’m outta here tomorrow.
Fuck now, I’m outta here tomorrow,
and when I check out, it won’t matter how my name’s spelled,
‘cause when you pass through, you only keep what you can’t sell.
I had the pleasure of co-producing ILYSM. This record is a behemoth, dealing with John Ross' harrowing health experiences, which he has sublimated into something beautiful and deeply relatable. The Antlers
This is undoubtedly my single favorite album of all time. It feels like such a perfect culmination of all the themes and ideas Fleet Foxes has been working with since 2008. It answers many of the questions found on both Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up, and represents an incredible maturation and growth in Robin Pecknold's perspective. Their other albums are certainly masterpieces, but this, in my opinion, is their magnum opus. I doubt it will be recognized as such in its time. isaiah_stuart
